From Italy to Armenia…
Choosing wines to match our food is a challenging task….especially as I hate going for the typical. Don’t get me wrong, the typical options are still excellent wines from amazing producers with a long history of making some of the best wines in the world. However, with the world getting smaller and the climate changing we are starting to see some amazing wines being produced in countries that typically wouldn’t have shared a wine menu with the great chateaux’s of France. Armenia, Romania & Bulgaria for instance have seen some fantastic producers come to market with some amazing wines and we believe that you actually get a lot more bang for your buck if you were to compare it side by side to a traditional bottle.
To access these amazing wines we have partnered with Liberty Wines who we do tastings with on a monthly basis as we get our new menus ready to launch. About the producer
Zorik Gharibian, an Armenian based in Italy, who worked with Attilio Scienza to find precisely the right location for this exciting project. After three years of research and detailed analysis of every aspect of the region, he finally bought the land in Vayotz Dzor. This is historically known as the most prestigious wine region in Armenia. The intention was to create a wine of the highest international quality. Winemaker Alberto Antonini and viticulturalist Stefano Bartolomei brought a great deal of passion and planning to the project, as well as a profound understanding of how to make it a success.
